Compensation:
Earn between $90-$120/day, based on your education and teacher certification.
What’s a Day Like as a Substitute Teacher?
- Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, with availability from 7:00 AM to 4:30 PM (with half-day shifts from 7:00 AM - 12:00 PM or 12:00 PM - 4:30 PM).
- Lesson Implementation: Follow lesson plans provided by the regular teacher to ensure continuity and a seamless learning experience.
- Classroom Management: Promote engagement, minimize disruptions, and foster a positive, productive classroom atmosphere.
- Adaptability: Tailor your teaching strategies to meet the diverse needs of students and help them thrive.
- Supervision: Oversee students both inside and outside the classroom, including in hallways, during lunch, and on the playground.
- Long-Term Assignments: For long-term substitute roles, collaborate with department heads to develop lesson plans that align with the regular teacher’s curriculum.
Qualifications We’re Looking For:
- Required: Associate degree or at least 60 college credit hours.
- Preferred: Bachelor's degree or teaching certification.
- Experience: Previous substitute teaching experience is helpful but not required. We welcome applicants who are eager to start!
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with the ability to connect positively with students, parents, and staff.
- Leadership: Ability to manage and guide students in elementary, middle, and high school settings.
- Knowledge: A general understanding of multiple subjects and the ability to implement lesson plans effectively.
- Flexibility: Critical-thinking skills and the ability to adapt quickly to varying classroom needs.
- Student Safety: Commitment to ensuring student safety and a positive learning environment at all times.
