Skyridge High School is seeking a passionate and dedicated Drill Team Coach to lead our vibrant and talented team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in dance and / or drill, with proven coaching experience, particularly with youth. This role requires a dynamic individual who can inspire and motivate students, fostering both skill development and team spirit.
A coach must be able to :
Coordinate team selection / tryouts
Coordinate and run safe and effective practices, caring for the needs of the students / athletes
Selects and prepares the competition team for competitions
Work, communicate, collaborate effectively with the students / athletes, staff, parents, administration and support staff in support of the school's vision for the team
Maintain a positive image for the school, community and team
Engage in school and community events
Support and motivate students / athletes to do their best in academic studies.
Develop activity specific skills in students / athletes
Provide individual instruction / guidance for students / athletes in a constructive manner
Adhere to state and NFHS safety guidelines, rules and regulations of the sport / activity
Manage, plan and budget resources in conformity to Alpine School District regulations, policy and procedures (PACE)
Manage, plan and provide fundraising opportunities for the team and individual costs associated with volleyball team (PACE)
Oversee local and extended / out of state trips and events that are beneficial to the team and the school
Maintains team equipment, orders uniforms and gear
Participates in the hiring and instructing of assistant coaches
Work with our Athletic Director to become a fully certified coach
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement engaging practice routines and drills that enhance team performance.
Mentor and guide team members, encouraging personal growth and team cohesion.
Organize and oversee all drill team events, including competitions and performances.
Collaborate with school staff to ensure alignment with school policies and goals.
Maintain open communication with students, parents, and school administration.
Qualifications :
Previous coaching experience with youth is highly preferred.
Strong background in dance and / or drill.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends for competitions and events.
