Description
Under the direction of the athletic director, the head coach is responsible for creating a positive environment where students develop strategic thinking, leadership, and goal-setting skills through athletic training and competition. Coaches maintain a safe environment; establish rapport with students, parents and colleagues; motivate pupils to develop attitudes and knowledge that will help them reach their potential and prepare for local, state and national competitions. Coaches implement a total sports program and use effective methods of athletic team instruction.

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
- Incumbent must be fingerprinted and clear a criminal backgrounds check.
- Requires knowledge of overall operation of athletic program and Utah High School Activities Association rules and regulations.
- Previous successful experience as a coach desirable.
