What are the responsibilities and job description for the Plant Operator position at Alpine Silica?
General Overview : The Plant Operator is responsible for operating machinery, performing general labor such as plant clean-up.
Responsibilities :
- Operate controls used in the production process or assist machine operators.
- Performing general labor such as plant clean-up.
- Ability to follow direction and complete tasks in a timely manner with or without close supervision.
- Operate plant equipment utilizing PLC systems.
- Communicate with shift leads and Production Superintendent as to any process malfunctions or irregularities.
- Ensure compliance with Quality Assurance program and testing processes as required by the QA program and procedures.
- Assist with plant maintenance and inspect for high wear and potential problems.
- Assist maintenance technicians in performing routine maintenance and repairs such as greasing, changing rollers, bearings, and belt splices.
- Normal task may include but are not limited to cleaning spilled sand from under tail pulleys or high build up areas, training belts for proper tracking, changing screens, maintaining polymer batching systems, and any other task assigned by Lead Plant Operator or Production Superintendent.
- Performs other related duties as required.
