What are the responsibilities and job description for the Utility Forestry Planner position at Alpine Tree Service?
The role of a utility forestry planner is to notify property owners of the future right of way work on behalf of the utility/owner and plan work for the vegetation management crews to safely and efficiently perform their tree clearing. After work is completed a quality inspection will be completed and documented.
- Understand scope of work
- Understand tree species and utility specs.
- Mark with paint/ribbon ROW boundaries tree removals/trims/Brush/Hazards
- Communicate with property owner
- Negotiate access for tree crews
- Record information regarding all aspects of the work
- Communicate with the utility representative
- Generate reports
- Identify hazards and danger trees
The planner will be entrusted as the face or representative of Alpine Tree Service to the public and utility which requires a high level of professionalism and responsibility. Quality and thorough work performed by the planner will be critical to ensure the planned work will support efficient and quality communication to the tree crew, in turn supporting efficient work and a profitable business model.
Job Type: Full-Time, Non-Exempt
Pay: Competitive, Hourly
Required Skills:
- Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in the utility forestry industry.
- Professional disposition that represents the company well
- Detail-oriented with good communication skills.
- Must have a experience with Computer Skills (ARC GIS, Microsoft Excel, Word etc...)
- Certified Arborist (recommended but not required; must obtain within one-two years)
- Valid drivers license is required for traveling purposes
