Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Daycare professional to join our team as a cook and cleaner. In this role, you will be responsible for prepping snacks, cooking lunch, cleaning dishes, weekly/monthly food ordering and general ongoing kitchen/building cleaning. This is a part time position with hours around 10a.m.-2p.m.
Ideal candidates will have experience in the food industry, particularly in dietary aide roles, and possess knowledge of food safety practices and health department requirements
Duties
- Prepare and serve nutritious meals while adhering to food safety standards.
- Assist in the dietary department by ensuring that all food is prepared according to health regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and dining areas.
- Collaborate with other staff members to create a positive atmosphere for both children and parents.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a daycare setting or similar environment is preferred.
- Knowledge of dietary aide responsibilities, including meal preparation and food safety regulations.
- Experience in the culinary field or catering is a plus.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to connect with children and their families.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
- Must be able to handle kitchen equipment safely, including knives and cooking tools.
- A passion for child development and education is essential.
