JOB DESCRIPTION:
This position is responsible for safely and accurately packing various types of products for shipment in accordance with procedures set forth by ALS’ Quality Management System, Department of Transportation (DOT), and commercial standards. Daily tasks for this position require strong organization skills, attention to detail, basic arithmetic, the ability to multitask, and much more. The packaging associate plays a significant role in the success of our company by being the last person to put hands on materials heading out the door to our valued customers and partners. The packaging associate must take pride in their work to ensure the end user receives orders that have been accurately pulled, packaged, labeled, and presented in a way reflective of the standards of Pacem Defense. This position is fast-paced and has a heavy workload that requires the ability to properly follow strict guidelines for packaging laid out by DOT, as well as the ability to accurately count and pull materials to maintain physical on hand balances that match our multiple inventory tracking systems and logs. To be successful in this position requires personnel who are dedicated, responsible, and strive for excellence.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Processes outbound shipments including, but not limited to, sorting, picking, packing, and palletizing IAW PDP6-A.
- Audits each shipment prior to packing to ensure the materials pulled/staged match the order requirements and that all organic lot information is recorded properly for traceability IAW PDP6-A.
- Responsibly pulls outgoing materials, adhering to the “first in- first out” (FIFO) rule.
- Safely packs and labels products in accordance with applicable Competent Authority and DOT regulations.
- Responsible for monitoring and maintaining shipping supplies inventory levels.
- Responsible for maintaining equipment in a clean and orderly condition and following prescribed safety regulations.
- Responsible for utilizing safe work practices in compliance with all company policies.
- Responsible for maintaining a clean/orderly workstation, stocking and restocking finished product and buy/sell areas, pulling low stock items forward on pallets to ensure an organized and well appearing shelving system, and assist in daily housekeeping efforts.
- Assists with cycle counts and year-end inventory.
- Performs required administrative tasks as assigned.
- Demonstrate safe work practices through compliance with all company Environmental Health and Safety Policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or its equivalent
- Valid Driver’s License.
- Ability to work on day shift, night shift, and weekends.
- Ability to pass Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) background screen, obtain and maintain an ATF-Employee Possessor.
- Ability to pass State Fire Marshall (SFM) background screen, obtain and maintain an SFM User License within six months of hire, unless additional time is provided to you by the Warehouse manager for extenuating circumstances. (Age requirement 21). Test preparation will be provided.
- Computer Skills: Windows Operating System; general use of Internet web sites and search tools, Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Acrobat.
- Ability to pass Forklift Certification Test (provided by the company)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds with reasonable accommodation.
- Frequently required to stand, walk, kneel, crouch, crawl; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear.
- Frequently required to utilize hand and finger dexterity.
- Frequently works with hazardous products utilizing appropriate PPE.
- Frequently exposed to hot and/or humid conditions.
- Occasionally required to sit, climb, and balance.
- Required to use vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Must be comfortable with heights and utilizing ladders or other elevation tools/equipment.
