You'll play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth operation of our supply chain, directly impacting the efficiency and reliability of our services. Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as Sourcing, Procurement, and Maintenance Technicians), manage and optimize the material supply process, and much more.

Day-to-day, you'll work closely with teams across the business (such as Sourcing, Procurement, and Maintenance Technicians), manage and optimize the material supply process, and much more.
We'll look to you for:
- Managing the forecast and execution of the material supply process and interfacing with Alstom's Sourcing and Procurement Departments,
- Ensuring material kits are issued to Amtrak Maintenance Technicians at point of use,
- Managing the Material Management module of the MMIS,
- Managing and controlling the availability of materials between the main warehouse and the three Maintenance Facilities,
- Interfacing with Supplier Quality Assurance and managing warranty activities,
- Ensuring stock verification and stock counting is being correctly carried out,
- Identifying arising surplobsolescence stocks to Operations Manager,
- Ensuring that repairable spares are controlled such that vehicle downtime is minimized,
- Ensuring correct and safe storage of all consumables, spares, and materials throughout the Maintenance Facilities,
- Initiating 'root cause' analysis for critical material shortages and implementing corrective actions

- Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other related field,
- Experience or understanding of managing complex supply chains,
- Knowledge of material management systems and processes,
- Strong communication and client interfacing skills,
- Ability to conduct 'root cause' analysis and implement corrective actions,
- Familiarity with railway industry standards and practices,
- Competence in managing supplier relationships and warranty activities,
- Experience in inventory management and identifying surplobsolete stock
