Shop Mechanic Job Description
We are seeking a highly skilled Shop Mechanic to join our team at Alsum Farms, Inc. in Arena, WI.
About the Role:
- Maintain farm equipment, buildings, and storage facilities at our Arena, WI location.
- Oversee all shop activities and work orders, and develop an annual maintenance schedule for farm equipment.
- Monitor and provide guidance to farm and contract labor employees working in the shop.
- Collaborate with the farm manager to coordinate part ordering for farm trucks and field equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records for farm equipment parts and supplies.
- Train full-time farm staff on farm equipment maintenance and provide guidance to seasonal staff during harvest.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of farm buildings and grounds to enhance efficiency, safety, and crop protection.
Responsibilities:
- Ensure proper functioning of storage bin equipment, including ventilation and humidity controls.
- Address breakdowns in the potato truck fleet and farm equipment promptly to maintain continuous potato flow from fields to storage bins.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Extensive mechanical experience, preferably with farm equipment.
