What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at Alta Equipment Group?
Responsibilities:
Co-ordinate new hire employee process- adding new starter details to HRIS system.
Work with management team to coordinate benefits package and new employee orientation. Entering new hire information into HRIS system.
Leave administration - Process FMLA requests, Short Term and Long-Term Disability
Act as the first point of contact for all day to day queries and ad hoc requests via telephone, email and face-to-face, both internally and externally, e.g. employment verification's, benefit questions, password resets, etc.
Assist with Benefits Open Enrollment and year end processing activities.
Participate in performance review process, Annual Salary Review and Bonus processing for employees.
Assist with compliance reporting and periodic audits as needed
Ensure that all sites comply with US Employment/DOL postings
Support Managers in all matters relating to HR including guidance regarding terms and conditions, absence, performance matters, flexible working etc.
Assist VP of HR in the internal advancement and promotion of internal employees.
Respond to requests for management and numerical information as required, eg. Monthly and quarterly headcount, sickness absence reporting etc.
Input information into our Safety Management software, prepare safety reports, complete safety questionnaires etc.
Travel estimated to be 30-40%, but could be slightly more depending on business needs.

Education/Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in HR or equivalent experience
Must be authorized to work in the US
Experience:
1-2 years of experience in a Human Resources role is required, preferably in a multi-state environment.
Experience with HRIS systems and internet/intranet
Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Outlook
A good understanding of payroll, benefits and labor compliance is desirable
Experience working with sensitive and confidential information
