Senior Smart Hands Data Center Technician
Location : Onsite – Ashburn, VA and Silver Spring, MD
Clearance : Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
US citizenship required per government contract
Summary :
Senior Data Center Smart Hands Technician will provide onsite support in the customer’s two Data Centers. They will perform hands on tasks such as server / network / rack installation, troubleshooting, cabling, decommissioning equipment, inventory and asset management, physical space planning in the data center, and maintain network / rack diagrams. The technician will split time between two data centers.
Required :
- 5 years with a BS / BA degree or 9 years of hands-on experience in a datacenter environment
- Understand power redundancy, power usage, different styles of power cords and amps needed per cabinet in a data center environment
- Installation of new data center racks and understanding of rack PDU’s, cabling and power requirements
- Rack and stack physical servers / network devices, fiber and copper patching and cable management
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot hardware and network connectivity issues
