Senior DevOps Engineer
Top Secret Clearance - REQUIRED
Location : Chantilly, Alexandria, or St. Louis
ALTA IT is seeking a skilled Senior DevOps Engineer to contribute to the development, integration, deployment, and ongoing support of vital mission systems.
Key Responsibilities :
Support the deployment of microservices through a robust DevSecOps pipeline in a Linux-based multi-tenant environment.
Develop, update, and maintain GitLab CI / CD pipeline code to ensure efficiency.
Configure, troubleshoot, and deploy Docker containers effectively.
Review code in Git and create relevant engineering documentation as necessary.
Assist developers in their deployments and provide necessary technical guidance.
Facilitate developer testing within the environment to ensure quality outcomes.
Create and maintain comprehensive DevOps documentation for processes and practices.
Conduct necessary security remediation based on scans.
Essential Qualifications :
CLEARANCE : Must currently possess a valid Top Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain & maintain a Polygraph post-hire.
Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, Computer Science, or a closely related field with 8 years of relevant experience; or a Master’s degree with 6 years of relevant experience.
Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong understanding of custom code development and code reviews.
Experience with GitLab functionality, error codes, and scripting methodologies.
Familiarity with AWS services and technologies (e.g., CloudFormation, S3, ECS).
Background in AWS serverless architectures (lambda, API gateway, load balancing, autoscaling).
Hands-on experience supporting development testing.
In-depth knowledge of cloud-based architectures.
Solid understanding of DevSecOps methodologies and workflows.
Proven experience in developing and managing CI / CD pipelines.
Knowledge of software development and sustainment practices.
Experience with collaboration tools (e.g., Jira, Confluence, RocketChat).
Preferred Qualifications :
Experience with GitLab CI / CD.
Familiarity with AWS Lambda and AWS ECS.
Proficient in troubleshooting, configuring, and deploying Docker containers.
AWS certification (e.g., DevOps Engineer, Solutions Architect) is a plus.
Linux certifications are highly desirable.
Experience with ArcGIS or geospatial technologies is a bonus.
