Building Maintenance Specialist
Job Summary:
Our client in Auburn Hills, MI is looking for a Building Maintenance Specialist. This is a contract position.
What You Will Do:
Under general supervision, this role involves specialized maintenance and mechanical repair of the department’s facilities to ensure continuous operations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review work requests, progress, schedules, and priorities to ensure efficient use of personnel and equipment.
- Handle emergency and unscheduled work requests, arranging prompt services.
- Perform quality control to ensure repairs and work are completed correctly.
- Prepare reports, work orders, and documentation as required.
- Respond to customer requests, status updates, and complaints; research and resolve issues appropriately.
Areas of Responsibility:
- Electrical systems.
- Mechanical systems.
- Plumbing.
- HVAC.
- Infrastructure repairs and maintenance.
Additional Duties:
- Conduct safety and environmental checks, coordinating with building engineering and management.
- Support janitorial services to maintain cleanliness and housekeeping.
- Assist with parts operations, including scrapping and disposal.
- Operate material handling equipment such as Hilo, Skid-Steer, and Pallet Jacks.
Basics:
- Interpersonal Relationships/Customer Service: Develop and maintain cooperative and professional relationships with employees.
- High School Diploma.
- 5 years of Maintanence experience.
- Computer Skills: Utilize word processing, spreadsheet, and related software to complete administrative tasks efficiently.
- Time Management: Plan and organize daily work routine, estimate completion times, and establish personal schedules accordingly.
- Regular performance of moderately physically demanding tasks.
- Combination of climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling.
- Lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling moderately heavy objects and materials.
