Job Summary : The Engineering Technician IV position supports the NASA IT infrastructure and Audio-Visual (A / V) collaboration solutions for the International Space Station (ISS) Program. This role involves rapid response to conference room issues and ensures high-quality transmission and operational efficiency in a fast-paced environment.Responsibilities : Develop, review, and analyze engineering designs, schematics, electrical drawings, and specifications.Conduct technical analyses and testing for IT and A / V conference room equipment.Install, support, and maintain IT and A / V equipment for legacy and new systems.Perform preventative maintenance inspections and apply software updates or patches.Diagnose and resolve technical issues related to conference room equipment, networks, and hardware / software.Provide ad-hoc training to end-users and room operators to enhance system usability.Resolve work orders and incidents according to service level agreements.Work closely with team members and clients to resolve technical challenges.Engage in root cause analysis to prevent incident recurrence.Monitor data traffic and ensure network resource performance aligns with operational standards.Conduct dry runs and testing to verify system readiness.Required Skills : AS or BS degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of a degree.3 years of experience in cable plant work with fiber optic, copper, and category cabling.3 years of experience troubleshooting A / V and network equipment.Proficient in troubleshooting A / V conference equipment and IT systems.Strong communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills.Ability to interpret network drawings, identify telecom color codes, and lift up to 50 pounds.Expertise in configuring switches, routers, and WAN acceleration devices.Knowledge of systems such as Crestron, AMX, Cisco, and other conferencing technologies
