Position Title:
Host/Hostess
Position summary:
A Host/Hostess is an integral part of the guest experience. The host stand is the first interaction the guest has with our establishment and sets the tone for their visit. They the tasks of the host stand as well as seating and reservations, and ensures proper flow of the restaurant. They also make certain each guest is made to feel welcome from the moment they arrive to the time they walk out the door.
Tasks:
- Check voicemail, return calls from guests as needed, forward messages for our events manager or other managers as needed. Also answers incoming calls throughout the evening and helps guests.
- Assigns reservations to tables being mindful of guest requests, service flow in restaurant and server’s sections.
- Assigns reservations intelligently being mindful of table and party size to maximize the available open seats and allow for walk-ins.
- Checks for any reservation conflicts and corrects them. Communicates with guests if anything changes with their reservation or we cannot fulfill a request made.
- Monitors the flow in which walk-ins and reservations are sat in server’s sections ensuring to follow the rotation and evenly seat sections with the same amount of guests.
- Assists with restroom cleanliness, stocking of to-go beer and swag, host stand cleanliness, to-go orders and cleanliness of open tables.
- Monitors reservation times and visit durations to ensure time limits are kept and tables are clean and ready for incoming reservations. Monitors table statuses and updates.
- Creates great guest experience through knowledge, personality, service standards and attention to detail.
- Monitors table status and updates accordingly to establish when tables are leaving and give an accurate wait time if tables are not available at that time.
- Adds guests to the waitlist and quotes accurate wait times as well as manages waitlist and customer paging staying on top of when tables are getting up and minimizing the amount of time the table stays empty.
- Take to go food and drink orders from customers accurately and with a positive attitude.
- Engage with customers in a friendly manner.

Experience And Education:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience providing excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment.
- A positive attitude and ability work well under pressure with team mates.
- Must have all applicable certifications.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $16.00 - $19.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 35 per week
