Position Summary
The Bookkeeper/Admin Assistant at Alternative Container is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, processing invoices and payments, supporting leadership, and handling key administrative and customer service functions. Reporting to the COO, this role ensures that bookkeeping and administrative tasks are completed efficiently and accurately while providing excellent customer service. The ideal candidate will have experience in bookkeeping, QuickBooks Online (QBO), and administrative support, with strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and reconcile financial records, ensuring accuracy and compliance with accounting standards.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and payment tracking.
- Assist leadership with administrative support, including scheduling, document management, and reporting.
- Serve as the first point of contact for customer service inquiries, addressing issues professionally and escalating major concerns to the COO or Warehouse Manager as needed.
- Use QuickBooks Online (QBO) for bookkeeping tasks, including financial data entry and reconciliation.
- Utilize Microsoft Office for document creation, data organization, and communication.
- Ensure all records are properly maintained and accessible for internal reporting and compliance.
- Support the COO and leadership team with additional administrative duties as assigned.
Accountabilities & Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s)

- Financial Accuracy: Maintain an error rate of less than 1% in financial recordkeeping and reconciliations.
- Invoice Processing Time: Ensure that 100% of invoices are processed and recorded within 48 hours of receipt.
- Customer Service Response Time: Respond to 90% of customer inquiries within 24 hours.
- Administrative Efficiency: Complete assigned leadership support tasks within established deadlines 98% of the time.
- Document Management: Ensure that 100% of financial and administrative records are properly maintained and up to date.
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma required; Accounting degree preferred but not required.
- At least 2 years of bookkeeping experience.
- Proficiency in QuickBooks Online (QBO) and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Strong customer service background with excellent communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle confidential financial and administrative information with discretion.
- Self-motivated and able to work independently while following company procedures.

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
