What are the responsibilities and job description for the Activities Coordinator position at Alternatives for the Older Adult?
BASIC PURPOSE/SCOPE:
Coordinate Senior Center Services and activities for Bridges Community Center, which serves the lower 27 townships of LaSalle County. Report service units to assess, improve, and sustain grant-supported services. Supervise and support activities’ volunteers.
PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Knowledge of community resources & programs
Regularly attend training and resource network meetings to stay up to date on current and new assistance programs. Obtain and maintain training for evidenced-based programs, including Fit & Strong!, and Matter of Balance.
Outreach & community partnerships
Plan and implement events and activities at the main and satellite office sites. Network with community partners to host and sponsor events. Design and publish quarterly Bridges’ newsletters and social media posts on a regular basis.
Data collection and entry
Provide accurate and timely electronic documentation of work. Assist with review of work and documentation completed by volunteers.
Other related duties as assigned.
Assist with smooth operations of services and to complete other tasks, such as covering the center, as assigned in support of the organization’s mission.
REQUIREMENTS:
High school diploma with strong communication and organizational skills required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to maintain electronic data entry needed. Experience with posting on social media, Microsoft Publisher, and/or Canva helpful.
This is a part-time, 20 hour a week position. There are no fringe benefits available with this position due to the part-time status.
