About the Role:

A leading global logistics company is seeking a detail-oriented and highly organized Ocean Import Agent to join our Chicago team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing the full cycle of ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with regulations, coordinating with carriers and customers, and providing exceptional service to clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee ocean import shipments from origin to final destination.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, customs brokers, and freight forwarders to ensure timely and efficient cargo movement.
• Prepare and process required import documentation, including customs clearance paperwork.
• Communicate with customers regarding shipment status, delivery schedules, and any potential issues.
• Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and company policies.
• Work closely with internal teams, such as warehouse and operations, to optimize import processes.
• Resolve any delays, discrepancies, or issues related to shipments.
• Maintain accurate records and update shipment tracking systems.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience in ocean freight forwarding, logistics, or import operations.
• Knowledge of import regulations, customs procedures, and documentation requirements.
• Strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and logistics software.
