Act as a key liaison between engineering and business stakeholders, translating technical needs into actionable plans.
Drive continuous improvement in the engineering organization by adopting industry best practices and promoting technical innovation.
A Bit About You
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; an advanced degree is preferred.
15 years of experience in software engineering, specializing in building scalable, loosely coupled services with low-latency data stores.
Proven leadership track record with at least 10 years of experience managing and scaling engineering teams.
Experience managing managers and leading large, cross-functional engineering teams.
Extensive experience with modern programming languages, preferably React, React Native, Ruby, Go, Python, or similar technologies.
Strong experience in product engineering, working with both internal and external products.
Deep understanding of multi-tenant solutions and their design and implementation.
Exceptional technical acumen, with the ability to evaluate and make decisions on complex engineering challenges.
Ability to establish and enforce engineering best practices and foundational engineering processes to ensure long-term scalability and maintainability of systems.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in healthcare or pharmacy-related technology.
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and services (AWS, Azure, GCP).
Experience with DevOps practices and tools, CI/CD pipelines, and automation.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.

Adjusting or moving objects up to 20 pounds in all directions.

Salary and Benefits
Salary Range: $198,400 - $248,000
Commission Eligible: No
Equity Eligible: Yes
Travel: Yes - Required up to 15% of the time. Engineering on/off-sites OR Leadership on/off-sites ~2x a year.
Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Arizona, Arkansas, California, Colorado, Florida, Kansas, Maryland, Missouri, Nevada, New Jersey, New York, North Carolina, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Texas, Washington (WA), and Wisconsin.
Employment Authorization Requirement: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. At this time, Alto is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa.
