Job Summary

As an integral member of our Compliance team, the Compliance Specialist, Pharmacy Licensing, will act to manage pharmacy licensing for Alto’s multi-jurisdictional pharmacy business. This position encompasses overseeing and directing licensing application processing and maintenance and will play a key role in our continuing expansion to new markets. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with our Operations and Legal teams. Alongside day to day licensing activities, the Specialist will be tasked with developing and maintaining robust education programs, policies, and protocols to ensure continuous adherence to licensing requirements and regulatory standards.

  • Play a key role in strategic initiatives by overseeing a comprehensive licensing program allowing for patient care expansion and growth.

  • Take ownership of pharmacy licensing and educate team members and other business stakeholders on licensing requirements across our various sites and in the states we service, fostering continuous professional development and paving the way for career advancement.

Specifically, you will:

  • Oversee the application, renewal, and maintenance of pharmacy licenses and registrations at state and federal levels.

  • Stay updated on regulatory requirements and ensure pharmacy operations align with licensing regulations and standards.

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies regarding licensing matters, responding to inquiries and providing necessary documentation.

  • Work closely with pharmacy management to develop and implement policies and procedures that support compliance with licensing requirements.

  • Assist with the licensing process for new pharmacy locations or expansion of existing locations, ensuring compliance with regulations in new jurisdictions.

A Bit About You

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree 

  • 7 years experience in pharmacy compliance and licensing

  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data analysis, reporting and auditing

  • Excellent communication skills, including the ability to deliver business reviews and staff training

  • Familiarity with relevant regulations, including the BOP regulations relating to licensing

  • Familiarity with multi-state pharmacy license application processes 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Experience with pharmacy licensing tracking tools/software

  • PharmD

  • Knowledge of NABP, ACHC and URAC accreditations

  • 5 years of leadership experience

  • Previous formal leadership experience and certifications such as LPQ, CPP, LPC, CFI are beneficial

  • Proficiency in databases (SQL, MYSQL, Looker) 

  • Proficiency with Google Suite

Additional Job Requirements:

  • Read English, comprehend, and follow simple oral and written instructions.  The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.  Assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Communicating with others to exchange information.  Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word; those activities where detailed or important spoken instructions must be conveyed to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly.

  • Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction, and having the ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and making fine discriminations in sound.

  • Frequent repeating motions required to operate a computer that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Sedentary work: Sitting most of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Walking & standing are required occasionally. 

Salary and Benefits

Salary Range - $120,000- $150,000
Commission Eligible: No

Equity Eligible: Yes

Travel: Yes - up to 25% of the time. 

Employment Requirement: Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S.  At this time, Alto is unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa.  

Location Requirement: Employment at Alto is limited to individuals residing in the following states: Washington, California, Nevada, Colorado, Texas, and New York.
