Altoona Nursing and Rehabilitation is seeking a Dietary Cook-Part-time, 12 : 30pm to 8 : 00pm

Overview : Prepares and serves meals according to menu plans that change with the seasons, creating a restaurant-style dining experience.

The cook must be detailed oriented, well-groomed, and professional. The cook must be able to lead and direct the kitchen and the dietary staff.

The cook must be able to meet the needs and request of the residents. Putting residents first is a standard.

The cook must be able to follow the direction of the Dietary Manager and Dietitian.

The cook must have high standards in food preparation and sanitation.

Qualifications : High school graduate or equivalent education is required. Preference is given to persons with Chef training or equivalent training and understanding of therapeutic diets. Minimum one (1) year food service experience in a health care dietary setting is desired. Safe Serve certification must be completed in the first year of employment.

Duties and Responsibilities : Duties are determined by the company’s needs and may include, but are not limited to, the following :

• Coordinate food preparation and meal service, including nutritional snacks
• Plan and initiate cooking schedule for food preparation to meet meal schedules
• Assist in receiving and storing food and supplies.

Mus be able to stand. bend, walk, a minimum of 6 hours a day.

Must be able to carry / lift, push , pull a maximum of 50 Ibs.

Must be able to clean and keep a sanitary work environment and pass federal and state regulations.

Must be able to communication professionally and interact positively with residents and other personnel.
