Overview
As an Electronics Technician / Engineer at Altricity, you will play an important role in the launch of our innovative, patent-pending consumer and commercial automotive products. You will work closely with our engineering and assembly teams in the end-to-end process of product prototype development and testing, product launch & support, troubleshooting & root-cause analysis, documentation support, and manufacturing readiness.
Primary Responsibilities
This is first & foremost a hands-on electronics engineering / technician role requiring basic, small electronics skills, experience and aptitude. The successful candidate will be able to perform the following:
1. Support Prototype Development & Test
· Build and test product prototypes containing Lithium batteries and small PCB circuits
· Perform box assembly, wiring, soldering, and continuity checks to ensure build quality
· Provide feedback to the engineering team and recommend electrical and/or mechanical design adjustments as required for prototype development, assembly and testing, product manufacturability
· Update changes to product & assembly documentation as needed
2. Product Fabrication & PCB Collaboration
· Work closely with PCB & product designers to understand, test, troubleshoot and document changes between board and product releases, as well as assist in implementing necessary modifications
· Support the change control process for bills of materials
· Work with PCB manufacturers and CMs to coordinate design inputs, BOMs, documentation and order management
· Provide feedback to the engineering team to support continuous improvement of product performance and reliability
3. Basic Software Flashing, Testing and Troubleshooting
· Flash PCBs, validate firmware loads, and troubleshoot issues as needed
· Become an expert in the functionality of the mobile app and installed product. Conduct basic testing of mobile app software related to product functionality, board designs and firmware releases
· Understand full system level functionality between software, firmware, hardware, and product to help reproduce and troubleshoot any issues that might arise during testing and normal use.
· Collaborate with software and hardware teams to troubleshoot & root cause any issues encountered
· Record and report test results accurately and comprehensively using tools provided
Additional Responsibilities
· Assist in documenting assembly and testing procedures for future reference
· Participate in team meetings, providing detailed product feedback as observed in activities, and contribute ideas for product improvement and innovation
· Engage in professional development activities to expand knowledge and skills in electrical engineering and related areas
· Be available to work with onshore & offshore team members mostly – but not entirely - during normal Arizona business hours
Qualifications and Skills
Must have:
· Hands-on experience with soldering, circuit assembly, circuit analysis, and PCB testing
· Knowledge and understanding of electronics principles and components
· Proficiency in using testing equipment such as multimeters and oscilloscopes
· Ability to read & interpret schematic diagrams
· Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
· Methodical approach to troubleshooting, including step-by-step troubleshooting, documenting, reproducing of anomalies, defects and issues in team environment
· Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
· Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
· Enthusiasm for learning and contributing to a fast-paced startup environment
· Microsoft Office 365 suite: Word, XL, PowerPoint, Teams, OneNote, To-do
Preferred:
· Knowledge and experience working with lithium batteries, chargers and battery management systems
· Google Firebase, Jira, Altium, Github
· Microsoft Office 365: SharePoint, Visio, Lists, Planner
· Basic knowledge of mobile app development and testing processes on Android & iOS
· Knowledge and/or practical experience in basic automotive electrical systems and batteries
· Experience drafting from-to diagrams
· Trade school, 2- or 4-year degree in electronics and/or demonstrated skills acquired by experience
Work Schedule
This position is available as both full-time and part-time, depending on the candidate's availability and the needs of the company. Flexible scheduling options can be discussed during the interview process. Position is onsite in Phoenix, AZ.

Compensation
Job title and salary commensurate with education and experience.
