About the Role:
The Pulmonary Lab provides diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients with a variety of pulmonary disorders. Our team performs tests that help diagnose respiratory diseases by measuring lung function and oxygen transfer. We also assist with bronchoscopies, endobronchial ultrasound, tracheostomies, stress tests, and O2 qualification testing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Selects evaluation methods that correlate with patient diagnosis, symptoms, and physician orders, documenting results according to Pulmonary Function policies.
• Provides diagnostic and therapeutic treatment, assisting physicians as needed.
• Identifies changes or high-risk situations in patient condition, taking appropriate actions and reporting to caregivers.
• Provides patient education, family teaching, and support based on individual needs.
• Completes order entry, verification, and transcribes orders, processing patient charges.
• Performs equipment maintenance, disassembling, cleaning, and assembling Pulmonary Function equipment.
• Coordinates patient/test scheduling with caregivers.
• Conducts pain assessments and takes action according to standard procedure.

Certifications:

• Respiratory Therapist - Certified | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Required Prior to Start Date
• Respiratory Therapist - Registered | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Preferred
• Pulmonary Function Technologist - Certified | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Required Within 18 Months of Start Date
• Pulmonary Function Technologist - Registry | North Dakota State Board of Respiratory Care | Preferred
• Basic Life Support (BLS) | American Heart Association (AHA) | Required Within 90 Days of Start Date
