Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, ability to work independently and interpersonal skills are required.Essential Duties and Tasks : Maintains and updates employee files, records, and documentation, via an HRIS as well as paper filingProvides training and support to employees on HRIS functionality and self-service tools; seeks opportunities to optimize the HRIS capabilitiesConducts research and provides recommendations to support and align with HR initiatives, projects and policiesAssists with the recruitment process by identifying and screening candidates, scheduling interviews, performing reference checksCoordinates new employee orientationEnsures smooth communication with employees and timely resolution to their queriesUpdates and distributes employee policies, procedures and forms as required ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulationsAssists with the benefits administration process by conducting benefits orientation sessions, enrolling employees in benefit programs, and addressing employee questionsAdditional Duties and Tasks : Collaborates with HR Manager to develop and implement HR strategies aligned with organizational goalsSupports payroll process by acting as a backup, assisting finance department with payroll preparation and review, and addressing employee questions as neededAssists in planning and executing general office tasks and projects as neededEducation and Experience Requirements : Bachelors degree in business / human resources or accounting degree preferred1-3 years of experience in human resources and / or payroll processingWorking knowledge of complete MS Office suiteKnowledge of employee benefits and laws; payroll software (or other related programs) and basic accounting / payroll practicesAn equivalent combination of education and experience may qualify the appropriate candidate for this positionSkills and Abilities Requirements : Excellent verbal / written communication and interpersonal skillsStrong organizational, attention to detail, problem-solving and time management skillsAbility to interpret and apply human resources and payroll / accounting practices and proceduresAbility to act with integrity, professionalism and to handle confidential informationPhysical Requirements : Position requires sitting over 2 / 3 of the timePosition requires working in front of a computer monitor over 2 / 3 of the timePosition requires walking less than 1 / 3 of the time between departments / officesPosition requires standing less than 1 / 3 of the timePosition requires talking or hearing up to 2 / 3 of the timePosition requires use of hands and manual dexterity over 2 / 3 of the timePosition requires reaching with hands and arms up to 1 / 3 of the timePosition requires lifting up to 10 lbs. less than 1 / 3 of the time
