Responsibilities
- Demonstrate expertise in distinguishing between commercial and government-funded patient assistance programs, applying for appropriate assistance based on patient insurance status and eligibility.
- Guide patients through the process of applying for patient assistance, ensuring all required documentation and forms are completed accurately for both commercial and government-insured patients.
- Gather and verify comprehensive patient information necessary for processing assistance applications, ensuring all data is accurate and up-to-date.
- Communicate with patients to explain and obtain necessary release forms, ensuring all required signatures are obtained promptly and appropriately.
- Efficiently process patient enrollment requests for co-pay assistance programs, including co-pay cards and foundation-based support, via online portals, fax, and/or phone communication.
- Track and manage the renewal and accumulation of co-pay cards and foundation benefits, ensuring ongoing support for patients.
- Proactively inform patients of any delays, closures, or limitations with their assistance programs, including notifying them if assistance cannot be renewed due to foundation closures or waiting lists.
- Investigate and identify alternative co-pay assistance programs and foundations when necessary, ensuring patients have access to continued support.
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- One or more years of experience working with drug foundations and/or assistance programs
- Previous experience in patient assistance programs preferred
