Description:

We are hiring within for the Tool Room! The tool room machinist is responsible for fabricating a variety of fixture and production machinery details to ensure minimal downtime for the manufacturing operations of our North American facilities. These responsibilities include but are not limited to replacement of perishable details including; clamp arms, locators, grippers, gripper fingers, locator blocks and gaging tools. Strong background in manual machining, and CNC lathe programming. Must possess the ability to comprehend complex blueprint drawings to complete the job from start to finish while sequencing the entire process.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities Include:

· Reads and interprets blueprints

· Ability to duplicate a part by using blueprints or with verbal/written instructions

· Fits and assembles jigs, fixtures and tooling 

· Performs hand operations involved in producing jigs, fixtures, tools

· Uses hand tools of the trade

· Able to manufacture simple components utilizing manual machine tools

· Assists other tooling personnel in the repair and maintenance of tooling and equipment

· May work with product designers and customers providing input to manufacturing capability on newly formed products

· Attention to detail in performing work, checking work, and documenting to assure quality, under the supervision of the designated associate

· Works in a safe and efficient manner with good housekeeping practices

· Other duties as assigned

Requirements

Skills, Knowledge and Competencies:

· Problem Solving  

· Ability to effectively interface and communicate with customers

· Good written and oral communications skills 

· Working knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  · Ability to follow lock out tag-out safety procedures
