Alumina Railing Products, Inc., a well-established manufacturer of commercial and residential railing systems, is seeking a Construction Estimator with experience in architectural, ornamental & miscellaneous metal projects. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for various construction projects. This role will focus on pre-construction activities, estimating, and project planning, from the initial conceptual phase to the final project closeout.
The selected applicant will collaborate closely with general contractors, builders, and our project team to ensure successful project outcomes. Strong analytical skills, a thorough understanding of construction processes, and the ability to work effectively with project teams are essential for this role.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of construction estimating, preferably in the Miscellaneous Metals - Decorative Metals.
- Seeking a self-motivated candidate with excellent communication skills.
- Ability to read and understand commercial construction plans, general conditions, and specifications
- Knowledge and understanding of stairs and railing construction fabrication.
- Familiarity with steel, stainless steel, aluminum, shapes, and alloys.
- Comprehension of metal connections and welds.
Responsibilities: Estimator’s typical responsibilities and duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Professionally represent Alumina Railing Products as the primary interface with Owners, Architects, and General Contractors.
- Ensure projects are bid in accordance with design, budget, and schedule.
- Identify the factors that influence the scope of work, including product specifications, time constraints, shop drawings, and submittal requirements, as well as any necessary conditions or requirements to effectively bid on a given project.
- Communicate with and solicit bids from suppliers and materialmen.
- Capability to create a preliminary schedule and estimate the project duration based on specification requirements, site conditions, seasonal factors, lead times for shop drawings approvals, and fabrication and delivery of essential items.
- Ability to quantify the materials, labor, and equipment needed to complete the project
- Review and submit RFI's as required.
- Participating in and attending bid review meetings.
- Commitment to seek and find new work opportunities

Pay: $65,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
