Job Responsibilities
- Review and understand project specifications, architectural drawings, and other relevant documentation to prepare detailed cost estimates.
- Assist in the coordination and collection of cost information from subcontractors, suppliers, and internal team members.
- Perform quantity takeoffs for labor, materials, and equipment using specialized software and tools.
- Work closely with senior estimators to develop skills and knowledge in cost analysis and bid preparation.
- Help in evaluating and comparing subcontractor bids to ensure they meet project specifications and requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of bid packages, including accurate scope of work and pricing.
- Maintain an organized system of project documentation and historical cost data for reference in future estimates.
- Participate in meetings with project managers, clients, and team members to discuss cost estimates and resolve any issues.
- Support the project team with change order management by preparing cost evaluations for additional work or design changes.
- Assist in the analysis of subcontractor performance to inform future subcontractor selection and negotiations.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of estimating processes and procedures.
- Ensure compliance with industry standards, company policies, and regulatory requirements throughout the estimating process.
- Maintain confidentiality and integrity of all proprietary costing information.
- Collaborate with the procurement team to gather accurate pricing for materials and equipment.
- Provide timely responses to requests
