Minimum Salary $45,123.53Salary offer commensurate with education and related work experience.This is a Full-Time Career Navigator for the Strengthening Community Colleges Grant Round 5 (SCC5). *** This position is grant-funded. Requires the provision of official transcripts and/or certifications within (30) days of hire. Applicants with academic credentials from non-U.S. accredited institutions are required to have their coursework evaluated in terms of U.S. "equivalency." All international credential evaluations must be conducted by one of the companies affiliated with the National Association of Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES®) in order to be considered for a faculty position. Applicants bear the responsibility of requesting, paying associated fees, and obtaining an original transcript evaluation for submission to the Office of Human Resources. SUMMARYThe Strengthening Community Colleges Grant Round 5 (SCC5) Career Navigator helps Computer Numerical Control (CNC) Students navigate the training program, college support services and connects students to internships and employment opportunities.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.•Develop, coordinate, and implement student support services for grant students•Provide individual guidance and assistance to grant students•Develop supports to facilitate students’ obtaining NIMs certification•Assist students with educational and workforce options•Develop individualized training plans to achieve employment goals•Develop workforce readiness competencies & training for students•Find work-based experience opportunities for students•Host activities related to the execution of real-world learning initiatives such as career exploration events, mentoring, and internships•Implement sector orientation and outreach, workforce readiness services, and employer mentor matching•Assist Project Manager to assess project success via Advisory Committee meetings, meeting with employer partners, etc.•Schedule facility tours for current and prospective students•Host mock interview sessions for students with employer partners•Develop and host employer mentor orientation•Assign and track students in mentorship•Create & host Workforce Transition Workshop for students who are near completion•Support and track students as they interview with partner employers•Follow-up with employed graduates during their first month of employment•Contact regional employers to develop paid work-based learning opportunities•Other duties as assigned.WORK ENVIRONMENTThe incumbent typically works in an office environment and uses a computer, telephone and other office equipment as needed to perform duties. The noise level in the work environment is typical of that of an office. Incumbent may encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe employee is regularly required to sit, talk, or hear; frequently required to use repetitive hand motion, handle or feel, and to stand, walk, reach, bend or lift up to twenty (20) pounds.
