We are seeking an Accounting Clerk to become an integral part of our team! We are a retail chain of 50 plus locations and we are searching for a candidate that can help develop, improve, and maintain our books and records.

Job Description: Accounting Clerk
- Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts; posting transactions; ensure legal requirements compliance.
- Develops system to account for financial transactions by establishing a chart of accounts; defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Maintains subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
- Balances subsidiary accounts by reconciling entries.
- Maintains general ledger by transferring subsidiary account summaries.
- Balances general ledger by preparing a trial balance; reconciling entries.
- Maintains historical records by filing documents.
- Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends.
- Complies with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements; enforcing adherence to requirements; filing reports; advising management on needed actions.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Duties may include but are not limited to:
Recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing posting process
Performing account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of general ledger
Researching account transactions to identify and resolve discrepancies
Developing monthly financial statements, including cash flow, profit and loss statements and balance sheet
Preparing and filing sales tax returns
Preparing and filing recycling fee returns
Assist in the financial management of the organization by monitoring expenses and identifying cost-saving opportunities
Assist in the maintenance of imaging systems
Other duties as assigned

Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
Proven work experience as a bookkeeper/accountant
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
Proficiency using accounting software and MS Office Suite, particularly Excel
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
BS in degree in Accounting with 1 year of experience or Associates in Accounting with 5 years of experience.
- Bachelor?s degree in accounting or related field preferred
- Previous bookkeeping experience preferred
- Experience in working with multiple legal entities under different legal umbrellas
