Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Intake Coordinator to join our healthcare team. The Intake Coordinator plays a crucial role in ensuring a smooth and efficient patient intake process, serving as the first point of contact for patients and their families. This position requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and a thorough understanding of medical terminology and coding systems.
Duties
- Greet patients and visitors, providing a welcoming atmosphere.
- Detailed Oriented.
- Solid communication skills both written and verbal.
- Works well in teams and can work independently with little or no supervision.
- Ability to organize, multitask, prioritize, and work under pressure.
- Always demonstrate professionalism.
- Collect and verify patient information, including medical history and insurance details.
- Schedule appointments and manage the clinic's calendar efficiently.
- Process medical collections and handle front desk operations.
- Maintain accurate patient records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Assist with administrative tasks as needed, including filing and data entry.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure seamless patient care.
Experience
Ideal candidates will have experience in a medical or dental office setting, with specific skills including:
- Familiarity with Home Care and Health Care operations and patient management systems.
- Schedule assessment appointments and follow-up appointments as needed.
- Meet with families to discuss our mission and values and services we offer.
- Obtain and maintain all necessary application materials from families.
- Maintaining relationships with referral sources and community agencies.
- Coordinate with Executive Director and clinical team regarding services.
- Work with insurance providers regarding authorizations, denials/approvals, NOB’s, etc
- Knowledge of coding practices, particularly ICD-9.
- Previous experience in a clinical environment is preferred.
- Experience with software such as Dentrix or Athenahealth is a plus.
