About the Role
The Vice President of Human Resources (HR) provides executive-level leadership and guidance to the organization’s HR operations. This role is responsible for setting, enforcing, and evaluating legally compliant human resources policies, procedures, and best practices, while identifying and implementing long-term strategic talent management goals. The VP of HR will ensure the development of a competitive and compliant workforce and leverage Workday HCM for managing recruitment, benefits, onboarding, payroll, employee engagement, and performance management. The VP of HR will specifically oversee the build-out and successful implementation of the Performance Management module within Workday, optimizing the system for the organization’s talent management needs.
Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership : Collaborates with executive leadership to define the organization’s long-term mission and goals, identifying ways to support these objectives through effective talent management strategies.
Workday HCM Expertise : Leverages Workday HCM to manage human resources functions, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll, and benefits administration. Ensures effective system utilization to improve HR processes and decision-making across the organization.
Performance Management Module Build-Out : Takes a lead role in building out the Performance Management module within Workday, utilizing prior experience in system configuration, process design, and customization. Works with relevant stakeholders to ensure the module is aligned with organizational goals and effectively supports performance reviews, goal setting, feedback, and employee development.
Talent Management : Develops and implements strategies for recruitment, talent acquisition, employee development, and succession planning, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and the strategic direction of the company.
HR Metrics and Analysis : Utilizes data from Workday HCM to track key performance indicators (KPIs) for the HR department and assess the organization’s effectiveness in talent management. Provides data-driven insights and recommendations to leadership for continuous improvement.
Compensation and Benefits : Researches, develops, and implements competitive compensation, benefits, and performance appraisal programs. Ensures the organization’s offerings are aligned with market trends and business needs.
Employee Engagement and Relations : Fosters a positive work environment by supporting employee engagement initiatives, resolving conflicts, and ensuring employee satisfaction. Oversees the management of employee relations, ensuring compliance with company policies.
Compliance and Risk Management : Ensures compliance with all relevant employment laws, regulations, and best practices. Stays informed of legal changes and ensures that HR practices reflect the latest legal and regulatory standards.
Budget and Resource Management : Develops and manages the HR department’s budget and staffing requirements to ensure resources are utilized effectively and efficiently.
Leadership and Staff Development : Provides leadership and guidance to the HR team, supporting their professional growth and addressing any HR, compensation, or benefits issues that may arise.
Professional Development : Actively participates in professional development activities, conferences, and networking events to stay current with HR trends and best practices.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; Master’s degree or JD preferred.
At least 10 years of progressive experience in human resource management, with a focus on strategic HR leadership, performance management, employee relations, and business development.
Extensive experience with Workday HCM, particularly in modules such as Recruitment, Onboarding, Performance Management, Benefits Administration, and Payroll.
Proven track record of successfully building out the Performance Management module in Workday, including system configuration, process design, and customization to meet organizational needs.
Certification such as SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
Skills
Strong leadership and supervisory skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage and inspire an HR team.
Ability to manage complex HR systems and processes with proficiency in Workday HCM.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, leveraging data to make informed HR decisions.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence and engage with stakeholders at all levels.
Ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, prioritize effectively, and work under tight deadlines.
Pay range and compensation package
172,000- $185,000 (based on experience)
