Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and efficient Material Handler to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the logistics and supply chain operations by managing the movement of materials and products within our facility. This position requires a strong attention to detail, the ability to operate various types of heavy equipment, and a commitment to maintaining a safe and organized work environment.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate heavy equipment such as forklifts, cherry pickers, and order pickers for material handling tasks.
- Assist in shipping and receiving operations, ensuring accurate documentation and inventory management.
- Perform order picking duties, accurately selecting items for shipment based on customer orders.
- Build pallets and prepare materials for distribution in accordance with company standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse to promote an efficient working environment.
- Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure smooth operations and adherence to safety protocols.
- Conduct regular inspections of equipment to ensure proper functioning and report any issues promptly.
- Engage in heavy lifting tasks as required, adhering to safety guidelines at all times.
Experience
- Previous experience in shipping and receiving is preferred.
- Familiarity with heavy equipment operation is essential; certification for forklift operation is a plus.
- Experience working in a distribution center or warehouse setting is highly desirable.
- Ability to perform order picking efficiently, with attention to detail in fulfilling orders accurately.
- Strong physical stamina and capability for heavy lifting are required.
- A proactive attitude towards safety practices within the workplace is essential.
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Pay: $19.00 per hour
