The Role: We are currently in search of an experienced Accounting Clerk to join our finance team. This role is pivotal in supporting and enhancing our financial policies and procedural frameworks. The ideal candidate will be instrumental in handling administrative financial tasks and contributing significantly to the enhancement of our workplace environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate financial records and participate in the establishment of accounts and the posting of transactions, ensuring compliance with legal standards.
- Develop and implement a system for financial transactions, including establishing a chart of accounts and defining bookkeeping policies and procedures.
- Manage and verify subsidiary accounts by allocating and posting transactions, and reconcile entries to balance these accounts.
- Support the integrity of the general ledger by transferring and summarizing subsidiary account information, and prepare a trial balance to reconcile entries.
- Preserve historical financial records through effective document filing systems.
- Generate financial reports by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends to inform strategic decision-making.
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local legal financial requirements by studying existing and new legislation, enforcing adherence to these laws, filing financial reports, and advising management on necessary actions.
- Contribute to a collaborative team environment by fulfilling responsibilities and assisting in achieving collective goals.
Education, Experience, and Licensing Requirements:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a closely related field is required.
- Previous experience in an accounting role is highly desirable, though not mandatory.
