We are currently taking applications for an organized and reliable Accounting Clerk to join our growing organization.
Job Summary
The main responsibility of the Accounting Clerk is to assist other accounting personnel with data entry, reconciliations, payables, receivables, filing, greeting customers, answering phones, time tracking/payroll processing, creating job forms and other administrative type duties. This position is a full-time, in-office position.
Major Responsibilities
- Provide customer support through answering phones and greeting customers as they enter the facility
- Accounts Payable
- Complete Payroll and Payroll Tax Reporting
- Accounts Receivable
- Bank/Purchasing Card reconciliations
- Process closed Purchase Orders and reconcile to open vendor invoices
- Assist Management in organizing employee travel expense reports and receipts
- Provide additional clerical and administrative support to management
Tasks
- Verify accuracy of data and revise any errors
- Resolve discrepancies in accounting records
- Verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare itemized statements, bills, or invoices and record amounts due for items purchased or services rendered
- Resolve discrepancies in accounting records
- Perform bookkeeping work, including posting data or keeping other records concerning costs of goods or services or the shipment of goods
- Type billing documents, shipping labels, credit memorandums, or credit forms, using computers
- Contact customers and vendors to obtain or relay account information
- Review documents, such as purchase orders and sales tickets
- Maintain financial or account records and support documents
- Process and issue employee paychecks and statements of earnings and deductions
- Compute wages and deductions and enter data into computers
- Review time sheets, work charts, wage computation, and other information to detect and reconcile payroll discrepancies
- Compile employee time, production, and payroll data from time sheets and other records
- Operate typing, adding, calculating, or billing machines
- Collaborate with others to coordinate and accomplish work activities and resolve problems
- Comply with policies and procedures

Requirements
- General working knowledge of QuickBooks Desktop Software
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Suite, spreadsheets, and internet
- Ability to learn and adapt quickly to a dynamic and ever-changing environment
- Attention to detail and highly accurate
- Meticulous organizational skills and time management skills to meet strict deadlines
- Ability to prioritize in a fast-paced office environment
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Maintain a clean and professional appearance
- Must have reliable transportation, or arrangements to meet attendance requirements for the position
- Must be able to pass a background review prior to being accepted for employment by the company
Education and Experience
- 1-year previous experience in bookkeeping for a small business(s)
- Completion of High School Diploma or GED is required
