Accounting Clerk
Our contracting company is looking for an accounting clerk to join our accounting team. We are looking for someone that would enjoy learning more about the construction industry and products, and is looking to grow with the position. Must be detail oriented, very accurate and able to multi-task. This position is primarily working with accounts payable, including verifying invoices against purchase orders, data input, initiating and following up on credit requests, reconciling vendor statements, and preparing all accounts payables for payment. You will also work with freight receiving paperwork, which includes verifying what we have received against PO’s, verifying product weights and freight rates, keeping track of incoming freight, credit requests and follow up for freight damage, and data entry. When proficient in these areas, there is an opportunity to learn and expand into additional accounting jobs. Applicants should have the following skills:
Experience with Excel, Microsoft programs, and accounting software.
Self-motivation to complete work without being micromanaged.
Excellent math skills.
10 Key by touch.
Ability to work in a team environment.
Able to prioritize tasks in order of importance.
Willingness to jump in and help with solutions when problems arise.
Accounting degree or accounting experience.
Professional appearance and phone manner.
Timely and reliable.
Good language skills with the ability to properly compose and format correspondence.
