About the Role
This position involves working on the development of cutting-edge manufacturing equipment and processes as part of our R&D team. The majority of your time will be spent in the laboratory, designing, testing, and refining hardware prototypes over which you will have significant influence and ownership.

Key Responsibilities
- Design, prototype, and test advanced battery manufacturing components and devices.
- Operate and optimize existing manufacturing processes in conjunction with our process and operations teams.
- Analyze existing process performance to drive design improvements.
- Synthesize electromechanical designs from lab-scale observations.
- Collaborate with colleagues to design, build, implement, and evaluate prototype designs.
- Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate work records.
Requirements
- A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics, or a related field.
- 0-3 years of industry experience.
- A portfolio showcasing current and past projects.
Desired Skills
- Proficiency in programming languages (e.g., MATLAB, Python, Arduino, Teensy).
- Experience with 3D modeling software.
- Familiarity with various fabrication techniques (e.g., milling, turning, laser cutting, 3D printing, breadboarding, PCB layout).
- Basic knowledge of electronic circuits and feedback control systems.
- Strong reading comprehension and written communication skills.
