Yard Spotter – Part-Time / Fill-In

A.M. Express Inc. is a family-oriented, safety-first trucking company with over 25 years of experience in the transportation industry. We operate four divisions: Tanker, Flatbed, Dry Van, and Spotting Services, with drop yards across Michigan and Wisconsin.

We are currently looking for a reliable, part-time Yard Spotter to join our Spotting Services Division in Escanaba, MI. This is an on-site position located at the mill — CDL required, and no public road driving involved.

Position Summary

As a Yard Spotter, you’ll be responsible for safely and efficiently moving trailers within the mills property. This role is perfect for someone who’s dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working independently in an outdoor/industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Move trailers between loading docks, staging areas, and parking spots
• Perform pre-shift equipment checks and report any issues
• Work closely with on-site staff and the cordinators.
• Maintain a safe and organized trailer flow
• Follow all on-site safety rules and procedures

Requirements

• Ability to operate a yard truck or spotter vehicle (training provided if needed)
• CDL required – must remain on mill property at all times
• Must be reliable, punctual, and safety-conscious
• Ability to work in outdoor weather conditions
• Basic communication skills
