Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Attorney to join our legal team. The ideal candidate will possess a strong foundation in various areas of law, including estate planning, workers' compensation law, and environmental law. This role requires excellent research and writing skills, as well as the ability to litigate effectively on behalf of clients. The Attorney will work closely with clients to provide legal advice, draft documents, and represent them in court proceedings.
Duties
- Provide legal counsel and representation to clients in various areas of law, including estate planning and workers' compensation.
- Conduct thorough legal research using tools such as Westlaw to support case preparation.
- Draft legal documents, including wills, trusts, pleadings, and motions.
- Litigate cases in court by presenting evidence and arguments on behalf of clients.
- Collaborate with legal administrative staff to ensure efficient case management within the law office.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant laws and regulations to provide accurate legal advice.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and keep them informed about their cases.
Qualifications
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning, workers' compensation law, and environmental law is preferred.
- Excellent research skills with proficiency in using legal research platforms such as Westlaw.
- Exceptional writing skills for drafting clear and persuasive legal documents.
- Prior experience in a law office setting is advantageous.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to think critically and solve complex legal issues.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
