We are seeking an Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) Regional Manager – North America to lead our North America Risk Consulting team. This role can be based in one of our United States offices or in Toronto, Canada. Working in collaboration with the Global Head of Allianz Risk Consulting, this role includes the ARC global business objectives as well as ensuring continuous improvement in the region based on the strategy, changing business needs and feedback, while taking leadership responsibility for the regional team across Allianz Commercial North America (US and Canada).

The role is also the link between the market and the global ARC team, and a key component of the role is to be the ambassador for ARC in the market, advising on and selling services, delivering market leadership, while supporting and driving the development and implementation of new services and solutions globally based on local needs and feedback.

The ARC Regional Manager – North America is also the link between the local underwriters, distribution and the market and is responsible for the ongoing relationships, on time delivery with excellent quality services, and ensuring adequate resourcing to meet current and future requirements.

Key Responsibilities

People Management

  • Lead, manage and develop the regional ARC team, with disciplinary responsibility for all direct reporting staff, and proper management of the matrix reporting lines between team leaders and the ARC Line of Business Global Heads ensuring a fully aligned approach.
  • Relationship management within the region, Risk Control functions and Risk Control Line of Business (multi-line). Ownership of UW, GD, Claims and Client relationship at regional level.

Implementation of Strategic Changes and Developments

  • Deliver the strategy of ARC in the region, actively supporting and promoting the changes in ways of working and deliverables as defined by the LoB heads.
  • Responsible for the implementation of all technology solutions, KPIs and Productivity initiatives with clear deliverables and active follow up in all areas.
  • Be the ambassador for all client services in the region ensuring including training and upskilling of the risk consultants, underwriters and distribution colleagues. Actively promote these services to clients and deliver against targets for growth in this area.
  • Strong collaboration with peers in the EMT and active contribution to / leadership of global projects.
  • Point of entry to ARC for regional MD and other relevant teams.
  • Regular interaction and collaboration with the ARC Line of Business Heads and local Underwriting teams to ensure a high-quality service at regional level. Ensure local requirements are reflected in global decisions and fully implemented locally.
  • Build trust in global and local strategy through active communication of strategic messages, strong listening skills to understand local concerns with feedback, and follow up on all topics (AES, UW NPS / global NPS, voice of customer ....).
  • Active collaboration and communication with external clients, marketing teams, insurance institutions etc.
  • Actively collect and communicate near misses, good news stories etc.
  • Reporting and budget ownership

  • Active ownership and management of KPI, productivity, and other reporting across the regional team.
  • Monitoring of workload and other demands on the ARC teams - with appropriate actions.
  • Ownership of the regional budget - ensuring that the region operates within allocated budget, and responsible for raising any potential deviation with solutions to allow time to respond and end the year within budget, inclusive of HR budgets and management of any promotions / increases within the budget, 3rd party usage and costs, and travel and entertainment budget.
  • ARC LLC

  • Managing director for ARC LLC, ensuring all legal, financial and budget requirements are met and reported efficiently and effectively with no exposure to ARC and AzC.
  • Key Requirements / Skills / Experience

  • 11 years of Risk Engineering and Risk Business experience.
  • 7 years of experience leading teams.
  • 3 years of Sales and Marketing experience.
  • Communication, presentation and relationship / stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with Risk Assessment and Management.
  • Evaluation, measurement and analytics.
  • Relationship Management and Market Insight.
  • Change Management.
  • The annualized base pay range for this role is $173,141 - $261,614. The annual base salary range represents a nationwide market range. The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate. The base pay is just one component of the Allianz Commercial total compensation package. As part of our comprehensive compensation and highly rated benefits programs, employees are also eligible for annual performance-based cash incentive awards.
