Amalgamated Bank, America’s socially responsible bank, seeks to hire an Account Executive to work in our Commercial Banking office in New York and to provide commercial client service and support including treasury management, client onboarding, and account maintenance.

Essential Job Functions:

  1. Act as day-to day relationship manager for assigned client portfolio, primarily focused on client’s treasury management needs.
  2. Serve as primary point of contact for assigned clients; liaising with other areas of the bank to resolve client issues.
  3. Consult with clients to make appropriate recommendations on product, services and fee structures.
  4. Ensure respective Commercial Bankers are well informed of client issues, requests, and opportunities for growth.
  5. Participate in sales process as requested by Commercial Bankers offering product expertise, online banking demonstrations and pro forma analyses.
  6. Deepen relationships by taking a consultative approach to client needs both from a product and service perspective.
  7. For new clients, provide and implement flawless account transition services from the incumbent bank to Amalgamated Bank including account opening, cash management service enrollment, and online banking training.
  8. Maintain accurate client records through a central repository of shared drives or databases.
  9. Complete monthly or annual audit reviews as required for select products and services.
  10. Review and decision of daily overdraft and other account reports; escalate issues to management as needed.
  11. Maintain compliance with all bank policies, procedures and regulations.
  12. Demonstrate a superior level of service, product acumen and attention to detail. Providing this superior service to our Commercial Banking clients may require responding to client outside of normal business hours and on weekends.
  13. Timely escalation to management and Commercial Bankers of client concerns or issues.
  14. Work independently and effectively manage multiple priorities.
  15. Respond to internal and external requests in a timely fashion.
  16. Perform other duties as directed.

 

This position is hybrid allowing remote and in office workdays each week. The exact schedule is based on approval of the Northeast Regional Director and needs of the Bank.  Note the hybrid schedule is subject to change at any time.


Knowledge, Skills and Experience Requirements: 

  1. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  2. Two to three years of experience in client-facing roles; work experience in the financial services industry a plus  
  3. Ability to accurately understand and audit financial statements 
  4. Ability to work and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving work environment 
  5. Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office software package (Word, Excel, Outlook); knowledge of HorizonXE is a plus
  6. Excellent verbal and written communication, and interpersonal skills
  7. Strong attention to detail and accuracy and able to respond in a timely manner
  8. Passion to support and work with socially responsible and mission-based organizations


Our job titles may span more than one career level. The starting base salary for this role is between $60,000.00 – $70,000.00. The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: training, transferrable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future.

Hybrid Work Model 
Effective February 18, 2025, employees in office-based positions will be working a Hybrid work schedule consisting of three days or more, on-site per week, Monday - Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, the contact center, branch service roles, and general services where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Please note, this Hybrid work model guidance does not apply to roles that have been designated as “remote”.
