Amalgamated Sugar Company is seeking a Senior Accountant in Boise, Idaho. The Senior Accountant position is responsible for serving as a team leader in the finance department and ensuring the department creates accurate and timely financial records for the organization. The Senior Accountant will report to the Assistant Controller.
The Senior Accountant will work directly with the Assistant Controller to manage daily, weekly, and monthly accounting tasks and activities to ensure accurate, complete, and timely financial reporting. In addition, performing and supporting internal and external audits, financial control compliance and producing year-end audit deliverables and provides support to the finance team for inquiries and special projects.

Additional Responsibilities
- Update, create, maintain and distribute various reports and spreadsheets.
- Assist accounting staff with partner cost and revenue sharing for sugar sales transactions and other projects as assigned.
- Prepare schedules and reconciliations for annual audit.
- Manage intercompany accounts receivable and accounts payable balances.
- Oversee the processing of system transactions by clerical staff.
- Responsible for identifying and executing process improvement initiatives, working in cooperation with assistant controller.
- Provide on-going training and support under the direction of assistant controller to staff, employees and managers to assist with understanding of accounting guidelines and procedures.
- Assist other finance areas, such as credit, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and inventory, as needed.
- Serve as group lead for special projects.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Minimum of 3 years’ progressive experience in general accounting or similar role.
- Internal control/audit experience preferred.
- Strong Microsoft Office applications skill.
- Significant ERP systems experience (JD Edwards a plus).
