The Staff Accountant is responsible for the daily income audit, accounts receivable, contract and insurance administration, and assisting the rest of the accounting team.

Essential Functions:
- Daily income audit including preparation of general ledger accounting entries, summary of all adjustments with necessary supporting documentation, audit of transactions and providing assistance to Operations with how transactions are recorded.
- Investigate, document, and respond to credit card disputes. Maintain credit card tracking files.
- Input of petty cash and paid outs weekly to accounting control and into the accounting system.
- Complete monthly inventory counts and update supporting documentation following established procedures.
- Completion of month end tasks.
- Assist with performing tasks related to and administering the procure-to-pay system, Birchstreet.
- Maintain statistical and financial tracking.
- Administer and maintain contracts, insurance certificates and vehicle files.
- Prepare monthly accounting entries and balance sheet
- Prepare billing invoices, monitor accounts receivable and follow-up on collections promptly.
- Assist with financial analysis as needed.
- Support Accounts Payable by reviewing the accuracy of AP coding.
- Ongoing support with projects and ad hoc tasks
- Other duties as assigned.
- At least two years’ experience in accounting, preferably in a hotel resort environment
- Strong knowledge of and ability to use various software, including Opera, Micros, Birchstreet, accounting software and MS Office is required.
- Must be organized and have high attention to detail.
- Must handle sensitive information in a confidential manner.
