What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director of Security position at Amangani?
The Director of Security is in charge of all safety and security matters within the property and outside of property when it relates to team members, guests, owners, vendors and company’s assets. The Director of Security keeps the property and its people safe through up to date procedures and ensures those processes are being enforced with the help of security systems (CCTV Cameras, Master Keys system.). In charge of leading the natural disasters processes in place (flash floods, wind, earthquake, etc.) by ensuring a proactive protocol to keep the hotel and its people safe. Leads the Fire, Life, Safety (FLS) program and takes care of educating the teams. Acts as representative of the Resorts Leadership to ensure all the assets are protected in any way and coordinates regular spot checks to ensure of the latest. Takes the lead in conducting investigations when necessary and is the primary contact with local authorities with whom a relationship is nurtured.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assists in the development and implementation of emergency procedures.
- Recommends follow-up actions for security breaches.
- Conducts investigations of all losses of property assets and refers to proper management for disposition.
- Deploys security staff to effectively monitor and protect property assets.
- Comply with all Corporate Security safety and security management guidelines and procedures.
- Completes proper documentation and reports all employee accidents and general liability incidents.
- Conduct periodic patrols of entire property and parking areas.
- Recognize success across areas of responsibility.
- Handles guest concerns and problems, settles disputes and resolves grievances and conflicts, or otherwise negotiating with others.
- Identifies and makes recommends for minimizing physical hazards and unsafe work practices.
- Implements action plans to monitor and control risk.
- Maintains required reports and documentation regarding patrols of property and parking areas.
- Provides means of obtaining necessary medical attention on a timely basis.
- Conducts hourly employee performance reviews.
- Identifies the educational needs of others, developing formal education or training programs or classes, and teaching or instructing others.
- Complete disciplinary procedures and documentation.
- Maintains first aid and CPR certifications required for Security Officers.
- Implements local authority requirements for security and safety.
· Attends pre- and post-convention and weekly forecast meetings to understand group needs and gather critical information to communicate to security officers.
· Celebrates successes by publicly recognizing the contributions of team members.
· Communicates the importance of safety procedures, detailing procedure codes, ensuring employee understanding of safety codes, monitoring processes and procedures related to safety.

QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years’ previous experience in safety & security at a minimum of a supervisory level
- Fire training certified; 1st Aid/CPR/AED certified
- Previous experience of dealing with high profile clientele
- Fluent written and verbal skills with the English language
- Knowledge of various computer software programs, including but not limited to:
- Microsoft Office Suite
- MS Shift
- DiligenceNet
- Strong communication and leadership skills
