This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Assistant Director of Continuing Education and Workforce Development - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who will support the Dean of Operations in managing, developing, and maintaining Continuing Education, Technical, and Workforce Development programs at the Moore County Campuses in alignment with Amarillo College policies and procedures.

Qualifications

EDUCATION :

Required : Bachelor's Degree.

Preferred : Master's Degree.

EXPERIENCE : Required :

  • Three (3) years of experience in Education, Business, or related industry.
  • Three (3) years of teaching or administrative experience.

Preferred : Experience in community college administration and teaching.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations, including hiring, training, and supervising staff and faculty.
  • Serve as Project Manager for special projects, including grant writing and customized training initiatives.
  • Lead the Workforce Advisory Committee.
  • Coordinate classroom scheduling for classes and training programs.
  • Support Success Coaching for technical and continuing education students.
  • Assist with JBS Better Futures and Quest Scholarship Programs
  • Oversee campus operations and activities under the Dean's direction.
  • Assist with student services, including orientation, career seminars, and recruitment events.
  • Serve on the Administrative Leadership Team and as the liaison for the Amarillo Adult Education and Literacy (AEL) program.
  • Coordinate ESL (English as a Second Language) program delivery.
  • Manage marketing and communication efforts for campus promotion.
  • Develop and schedule continuing education courses in Personal Enrichment, Occupational Education, and Contract Training.
  • Plan and implement technical course offerings at Moore County Campus and Moore County Career and Technical Center.
  • Advise and assist students with registration, financial aid, FAFSA, and scholarships.
  • Assist in developing and monitoring the campus budget.
  • Complete reports, documentation, and performance evaluations as assigned.
  • Perform other work-related duties as required.

  • Salary : Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.

    Pay grade 14 (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).

    Physical Demands : While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices, buildings, campuses and other various locations in the performance of assigned duties. Requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and or / maneuver office supplies and presentation materials as needed.

    Work Conditions : Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays and varying events as necessary or scheduled).

    Working Environment : This position works in a professional office setting in addition to various locations according to the needs of committees, meetings, community involvement, and collaborative initiatives. Self-sufficiency is critical.

    Travel Expectations : Any travel essential for this position requires the employee to adhere to the Amarillo College travel policy as written.
