Summary
This is an exciting time to work for Amarillo College! We are seeking our next Panhandle PBS Graphic Designer and Motion Graphics Coordinator who will be all-in on our mission and who will be responsible for the full range of visual design projects for Panhandle PBS, including brand development, digital and print media design, and motion graphics for promotional and content-based media. This role collaborates closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure brand consistency across all media platforms and effectively communicate Panhandle PBS’s mission and identity.

Qualifications
EDUCATION:
Required: Associate degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media or closely related field.
Preferred: Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Design, Digital Media or closely related field.
EXPERIENCE:
Required: Two (2) years of professional experience in graphic design, motion graphics, or related digital design work.
Preferred: Four (4) years of professional experience in graphic or motion design.
LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
Required: Valid Texas driver’s license and clean driving record.
Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage and execute all graphic design projects for the station, including marketing materials, event branding, and digital content assets.
- Work cooperatively with content, events, and marketing/social media department staff to provide graphic design elements for all projects, as needed.
- Design and create consistent and cohesive graphics packages (including motion graphics) for use in video projects.
- Understand and execute full design branding packages for all station projects, including but not limited to color palette, typography, graphic icons, and overall graphic look for use across multi-media that’s specific to each individual project.
- Creatively contribute motion graphics to full package designs.
- Design and execute animations for videos, presentations, and interactive content.
- Create visuals that resonate with the target audience, ensuring they are engaging and easily understood.
- Assist with occasional filming and editing of content as needed.
- Perform other work-related duties as required.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, etc.).
- Strong understanding of visual branding and design principles.
- Knowledge of best practices for digital and social media marketing.
- Excellent visual storytelling skills with a creative and collaborative mindset.
- Strong interpersonal communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of PBS and the Texas Panhandle community is preferred.
Salary: Amarillo College follows a lag pay strategy, with starting offers typically between the minimum and midpoint of the pay grade, rarely reaching the maximum to support long-term growth within each position.
Pay grade 11 Amarillo College Pay Grades (salary is determined by Human Resources based on education, work experience and internal comparisons).
Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to travel between offices and buildings, and requires the ability to lift, carry, push, pull and/or maneuver office supplies as needed.
Working Conditions: Must be willing to work a flexible schedule (days, nights, weekends, holidays, and varying events if necessary.)
Work Environment: This position operates in a professional office environment, routinely uses standard office equipment (i.e. computers, phones, copy and fax machines, filing cabinets) and is in a high traffic area with continual interruptions. Software commonly used includes Microsoft Office, Colleague, and various other educational applications. Work may also be performed outside of the office and with little to no supervision.
