The Bar Manager oversees all aspects of the bar at our new Bend location, including managing the bar team, ensuring smooth and efficient operation, and delivering exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in bar management, customer service, and team leadership, with a passion for wine and hospitality. The position strives to ensure guest satisfaction, quality service, compliance with policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local regulations while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
Our Ideal Candidate:
- 3 years of bar management experience, preferably in a high-volume or winery setting.
- Knowledge and passion for wine and the wine industry.
- Strong leadership and team-building skills.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to manage inventory and handle administrative tasks.
- Familiarity with POS systems and bar equipment.
- Required Food Handler certification and an OLCC permit.
Position Requirements:
- Experience in the areas of restaurant business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, and operations methods.
- Knowledge of principles and processes involved in providing customer service. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
- Commitment to fostering a culture of accountability, aligning with company values, and contributing to a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
- Ability to deal tactfully with staff, customers, and third parties.
Position Responsibilities:
- Reinforce, model, and make decisions based on Amaterra’s Mission and Values.
- Ensure that the team adheres to the Amaterra standard in every aspect of the operation.
- Champion, train, and continually reinforce a hospitality and service excellence culture.
- Direct and oversee recruitment and development of departmental employees; hire, train, empower, coach, counsel, and evaluate staff.
- Manage bar operations to meet or exceed budgeted income and expenses.
- Implement and manage all company programs to ensure compliance with the SOPs, including safety and sanitary regulations and all federal, state, and local regulations, to ensure optimal levels of quality service and hospitality to members and guests.
- Manage the maintenance/sanitation of the bar area and equipment to protect the assets, comply with regulations, and ensure quality service.
- Estimate liquor, wine, and other beverage consumption to anticipate the quantities required. Provide directions for ordering.
- Respond to customer needs, issues, comments, and complaints, ensuring quality experience and enhancing future sales prospects.
- Prepare employee shift schedules according to the business forecast, payroll budget guidelines, and productivity requirements—schedule staff to meet operational needs while minimizing overtime.
- Collaborate with the kitchen and wine team to create a unique and compelling drink menu that complements the winery’s offerings. Regularly review and adjust the menu based on guest preferences and seasonal trends.
