About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Data Center Operations Technician to join our team at Amazon Data Services, Inc. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our data centers. Your expertise in mechanical and electrical systems will be crucial in maintaining the integrity of our facilities.
In this role, you will be working closely with our engineering teams to identify and resolve issues related to equipment maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair. Your strong analytical skills and attention to detail will enable you to quickly diagnose problems and implement effective solutions.
As a Data Center Operations Technician, you will have the opportunity to work on complex projects that involve collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive business outcomes. You will also be responsible for adhering to safety procedures and protocols to ensure a safe working environment.
The ideal candidate will have 3 years of experience in maintenance and repair of mechanical or electrical equipment, as well as experience operating electrical or mechanical systems in a mission-critical environment. A strong understanding of building management systems (BMS/EPMS) is also essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain mechanical and electrical systems within the data center
- Troubleshoot facility equipment and rack-level events within internal SLAs
- Perform limited maintenance tasks, including filter changes, HVAC PMs, rack power installs, rack PDU, and rack ATS replacements
- Provide support to Data Center Operations technicians
- Perform root cause analysis of equipment failures
- Ensure all safety procedures are adhered to while performing work
