As a Data Center Operations Manager with Amazon Web Services you will support the National Mission in a challenging, but rewarding environment.
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is a fast-paced technology company and a leader in the world of Data Centers. We are currently expanding our infrastructure management team and are looking for proven technology managers with experience in people management, strong technical understanding, and the drive and vision to take Amazon Data Center Operations to the next level. The successful candidate will have experience managing people with varying skillsets, devising strategies, mentoring people in all levels, sponsoring projects, and proposing technical solutions.
This position requires that the candidate selected be a US Citizen and must currently possess and maintain an active TS/SCI security clearance with polygraph.
Key job responsibilities
• Prioritize and assign trouble tickets to data center technicians and operators
• Routinely review ticket queue for large events and address accordingly
• Coordinate change management resources
• Guide, train, and educate data operations technicians on the best practices related to all service owner issues
• Manage and deliver mid-size projects
• Recommend, document, and oversee policies and procedures to meet industry best practices and to meet required SLAs
• Manage a diverse team of data technicians with varying skills
• Provide weekly report to the data center cluster manager
• Maintain the on-call schedule coordinating absence and vacations
• Recruit and train data technicians to ensure appropriate staffing levels
• Host weekly staff meetings
• Write and deliver performance reviews for staff

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate's degree or above, or Cloud or GICSP (Global Industrial Cyber Security Professional) or GSEC (GIAC Security Essentials) or SSCP (Systems Security Certified Practitioner)
- Current, active US Government Security Clearance of TS/SCI with Polygraph.
- 2 years of managing personnel or equivalent leadership experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in an IT-related field or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- 2 years of experience in a Data Center environment.

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $115,800/year in our lowest geographic market up to $200,100/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
