DESCRIPTION
As a connetivity QA engineer, you will work on projects in a large range of areas: WIFI/BT/Smart home technologies, OS level tests, test automation, etc. You will spend tremendous efforts studying and designing the new methodologies and techniques to facilitate testing, including the state-of-art AI methods. You will engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative ideas to test consumer products.
In Wireless Connectivity QA team, we treat testing as art work, a stage that we emphasize on both the innovation and depth of domain areas. We have the mindset of invent different ways to break the software so that it can grow better.
Key job responsibilities
- Develop test plans and test cases
- Develop Automation test harness and automate tests using internal and open source tools & infrastructure
- Find, isolate, document, regress, and track bugs through to a resolution
- Interpret and report testing results, and be a vocal proponent for quality in every phase of the development process
- Engage with an experienced cross-disciplinary staff to conceive, design and develop innovative consumer products.
- Need to have hunger of continuously searching for better and more efficient test solutions, and an instinct for continuous invention and innovation.
- Have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.
- Be responsive, flexible and able to succeed within an open collaborative peer environment. You will need to be able to work efficiently and effectively in a fun, fast-paced dynamic team environment.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- 6 years of quality assurance engineering experience
- Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role
- Experience in manual testing
- Experience in automation testing
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field.
- Experience writing test automation, and test cases.
- Experience working in a UNIX/Linux environment and utilizing virtual machines
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- • Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or similar technical field.
- • 5 years of hands on experience in development or testing of wireless connectivity technologies, such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee
- • Knowledge of all the Layers of the OSI model, TCP/IP, Socket programming
- • Experience with OS is highly preferred, including how to test and qualify functionalities from OS level, e.g., Android
- • Strong experience in Python, Java, C, and C . Experience with open source tools and resources

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
